I-Jump
So this weekend saw Isla turn 8 years old (no idea where those 8 years went)! As a birthday treat, we took Isla and her friend to I-Jump in Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts. What a fab place it is for the kids J. Quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but still plenty of fun.
I-Jump is an indoor trampoline park. It has 55 interconnected trampolines, monkey bars, battle beam, climbing walls, foam pits and even an elevated jumping platform – where you land on a massive air bag.
They run various sessions, including toddler sessions, teen sessions and every few weeks an adaptive session for people with autism. The timetable can be found on the website.
Upon arrival, we we’re greeted by the loveliest staff who made a big fuss of Isla as it was her birthday – really excellent customer service J. We were also 10 mins late for our booked session, however they moved us to a later session with no fuss at all to ensure we got our full hours jumping time! We were then given our free i-jump socks (yours to keep) and asked to wait in the briefing area, where we watched a safety video and were given the simple rules and guidelines from another lovely staff member. The safety video did worry me a little, as you do forget how dangerous it could be to land awkwardly!
**Top tip – make sure you complete the waiver online before attending your chosen session. We did this and it does save you a bit of time once you get there.
What’s good (adults)
Myself and Mr Lowe did pay to use the trampolines etc with the kids, but in all honesty we got bored pretty quick. The gladiator type battle beam was quite fun (I thrashed Mr Lowe – twice J), as is the giant airbag – but we’d have been happy enough just having a coffee and watching the kids have fun. There are lockers available to store all of your belongings though if you do decide to join the kids in the trampoline area. I think another massive plus point for the grown ups is how safe the whole set up seems. There’s plenty of staff wandering around making sure rules are adhered to which is great and the customer service shown by all staff was spot on.
Grown ups score – 9 out of 10 (only marked down as it was smaller than we thought it would be)
What’s good (kids)
The kids absolutely LOVED I-Jump! They didn’t stop for a second. Isla’s favourite parts (in order) were:
- Climbing walls (with safe falling into giant foam pits),
- Jumping from a platform onto the giant air bag
- Gladiator battle beams
- Swinging from the monkey bars
- Bouncy basketball courts
- 2 player reflex bounce games
- Monkey bars and cargo nets
Kids score – 10 out of 10!
Food & Drink
There’s a lovely little café area which is raised slightly above the trampoline area, allowing adults to keep an eye on the kids easily. Although we didn’t eat at the café, the food was very reasonably priced and looked lovely. The kids did have a slush each at £1.50 for a small (but decent sized) cup.
We also noticed that there’s a kids party room. More info on the kids parties at I-Jump can be found here.
Price
Finally – the price!
At £10 per person (peak time) for the Open Session, we felt that I-Jump was very reasonably priced. If you can go there off peak then the price is even better at £7 per person.
The kids had a great time and we will definitely return (although I’ll spend the next time sat in the café with a latte rather than jumping around the court)!
